Welcome to Pempo. Pempo is a mobile application that allows users to selectively share their contact information with others via dynamically generated QR codes. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information when you use our app. By using Pempo you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy.
Information We Collect
Pempo is designed with your privacy as a priority. All contact information you enter into the app including your name, phone numbers, email addresses, job title, organization, LinkedIn, URL and website is stored exclusively on your device. Pempo does not collect transmit or store any of your personal contact information on external servers. We do not have access to the contact information you enter into the app. We may collect limited non-personal information including app usage analytics, crash reports and subscription information processed through RevenueCat.
How We Use Your Information
The contact information you enter into Pempo is used solely to generate QR codes for you to share with others at your discretion. This information never leaves your device and is never transmitted to Pempo or any third party. You remain in complete control of what information you choose to share and with whom at all times. Any non-personal usage data we collect is used exclusively to improve the performance and functionality of the app.
Third Party Services
Pempo uses RevenueCat to process and manage in-app subscription payments. RevenueCat may collect certain information in connection with your purchase including your device identifier and transaction history handled in accordance with their own privacy policy at revenuecat.com/privacy. Your purchase is also processed through Apple App Store or Google Play Store depending on your device. Pempo does not sell trade or transfer your information to any third parties beyond those listed here.
Data Storage and Security
All contact information you enter into Pempo is stored locally on your device using secure on-device storage. Pempo does not maintain external databases containing your personal information. You can delete your data at any time through the Clear Profile Data option in app settings. We recommend keeping your device software up to date and using device level security features to protect your data.
Data Sharing
You control exactly what contact information is shared and when. When you generate a QR code in Pempo you choose which fields to include before the QR code is created. Only the fields you select are encoded into the QR code. No information is shared without your explicit action of generating and displaying a QR code.
Children’s Privacy
Pempo is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided personal information through our app, please note, Pempo does not maintain external databases containing personal information. You can delete your child's data at any time through the Clear Profile Data option in their app settings.
Your Rights
Depending on your location you may have certain rights regarding your personal information including the right to access correct or delete your data. Since Pempo stores all contact data locally on your device you can access and delete your information at any time directly through the app. For any other data rights requests please contact us.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal operational or regulatory reasons. We will notify you of any significant changes through the app or through the App Store and Google Play Store listing. Your continued use of Pempo after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
California Privacy Rights
If you are a California resident you may have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act. Since Pempo does not sell personal information and stores all contact data locally on your device most CCPA provisions do not apply to our core functionality.
